With a PhD in Mechanical Engineering from Trinity College Dublin and more than 20 years of consulting experience, he has delivered major projects across infrastructure, education, commercial, and cultural sectors, driving innovative, high-quality solutions for clients across Ireland and Europe.

Sarah Berry is a Principal Climate Consultant with 10 years of experience in climate change and sustainability. She specializes in Climate Impact and Climate Risk Assessments, supporting projects across infrastructure, energy, residential, industrial, and data centre sectors, with expertise in carbon assessment and greenhouse gas reporting.
Carl Ramskill
Principal Air Quality Consultant
Carl Ramskill is a Principal Air Quality Consultant at AWN Consulting. He holds a BSc in Chemistry and an MSc in Air Pollution Management and Control from the University of Birmingham. He is a full Member of the Institute of Air Quality Management (MIAQM) and the Institution of Environmental Science (MIEnvSc). Carl specialises in air quality dispersion modelling, monitoring, EIA and large road scheme assessments.

James Close
Principal Risk Consultant
James Close is a Principal Consultant at AWN with seven years of experience in process safety and technical risk management. A Chartered Chemical Engineer with an MEng (First Class Honours) in Chemical Engineering from the University of Bath, he specializes in quantitative risk assessments, consequence and dispersion modelling, facility siting, safety case development, and process safety for the oil & gas, specialty chemicals, hydrogen, and battery energy storage sectors.

Mairead Rawal (BSc, MSc) is a Principal Environmental Consultant at AWN. Mairead holds a Bachelor’s degree in Geology and Geography from the University College Cork and a Master’s degree in Environmental Science from Trinity College Dublin. She has over 15 years’ experience in the environmental consultancy sector and specialises in Industrial Emissions Licensing and EIA.
